Charles Alfred Morton IV[ 1] (born November 12, 1983) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Braves selected Morton in the third round of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft.
Started on April 9 vs. Philadelphia, Atlanta’s home opener, and held the Phillies to four hits and one run over 6.0 innings to earn his first win of the year. The win was Morton’s first for Atlanta since he beat the Florida Marlins on August 28, 2008, a span of 4,607 days.
