In Las Palmas you will find the best of both worlds, a long stretch of sandy beach and the hustle and bustle of city life. There are lots of high end shops and boutiques, side streets laden with cafes and great places for tapas and drinks.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, or just Las Palmas, is the capital of Gran Canaria, the largest city in the Canary Islands, and one of the largest cities in Spain. In 2018, it had about 380,000 residents. Like for example Rio de Janeiro and Miami Beach, Las Palmas is famous for its urban beaches, of which there are five.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is one of the few capital cities of Spain which has kilometres of beach. Added to this, are the excellent climatic conditions of the island, which allow the beach to be used all year round.
