Querelle is a 1982 English-language arthouse film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and starring Brad Davis, adapted from French author Jean Genet's 1947 novel Querelle of Brest. It was Fassbinder's last film, released shortly after his death at the age of 37.

Everything just works in its weirdness and in-your-face-ness. A handsome Belgian sailor on shore leave in the port of Brest, who is also a drug-smuggler and murderer, embarks upon a voyage of highly charged and violent homosexual self-discovery that will change him forever from the man he once was.
Querelle is a handsome sailor whose commanding officer, Seblon, worships and desires him from afar. After murdering his drug-smuggling partner, Querelle visits a notorious brothel run by the rapacious Lysiane who leads Querelle into his first homosexual encounter.
