Dreamkeeper is a 2003 film written by John Fusco and directed by Steve Barron. The main plot of the film is the conflict between a Lakota elder and storyteller named Pete Chasing Horse (August Schellenberg) and his Lakota grandson, Shane Chasing Horse (Eddie Spears).
"Dreamkeeper" is a heartfelt miniseries in which the legends of the Native American nations come to life. Grandpa (August Schellenberg, "Free Willy") wants to attend the All Nations ceremony, but he's not feeling well and can't make the drive alone from South Dakota to New Mexico.

A troubled seventeen-year-old Lakota boy on the run from a gang on the reservation escorts his grandfather, a renowned storyteller, to Albuquerque. Episode 1 - 90 mins. Shane reluctantly accepts escorting his grandfather to the All Nations Pow Wow to share his stories. Episode 2 - 92 mins.
