Jul 22, 2009 · Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - Final Cut is a special-release DVD, re-releasing the Stargate SG-1 television pilot, "Children of the Gods". The film was edited; given sharper and clearer imaging, re-scoring the music, and new and trimmed scenes, including the removal of the controversial scene showing full-frontal nudity.
A new version of the episode (Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - Final Cut) was released on DVD (July 21, 2009), re-edited using footage shot in 1997 as well as updated visual effects. The beginning has been slightly altered, a new scene has been added, and the nude scenes in the original Director's Cut have been cut out.
Children of the Gods - Final Cut is a special re-release cut of the pilot of the first episode of Season 1 of Stargate SG-1.

Jul 20, 2009 · Final Cut is a much better movie. The episode and its story are very much the same, so the nostalgia factor has not been paved over with a new super-highway. No, this is still the “Children of the Gods” that we know and love — but now it is better.

On March 26, 2018, Dragon's Domain Records released Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - The Final Cut - Original Soundtrack by Joel Goldsmith. Goldsmith, who passed away in 2012, had first discussed releasing the score from "Children of the Gods" when the Final Cut was released in 2009.
