The film was edited; given sharper and clearer imaging, re-scoring the music, and new and trimmed scenes, including the removal of the controversial scene showing full-frontal nudity.

  5. Jul 20, 2009 · Final Cut is a much better movie. The episode and its story are very much the same, so the nostalgia factor has not been paved over with a new super-highway. No, this is still the “Children of the Gods” that we know and love — but now it is better.

  7. On March 26, 2018, Dragon's Domain Records released Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - The Final Cut - Original Soundtrack by Joel Goldsmith. Goldsmith, who passed away in 2012, had first discussed releasing the score from "Children of the Gods" when the Final Cut was released in 2009.
