Mary, the “most blessed of women” is a beautiful example of living a life of faith, courage, obedience and trust. Mary was a teenager living in Nazareth when the unimaginable happened, the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced she was chosen by God to give birth to the Messiah.
Mary of Nazareth is one of the few women in the ancient world whose life story we know: as girl, mother and mature woman. Even so, the gospels are about Jesus, not his mother. Her appearances are limited, and this makes it difficult to know what the real woman was like.
