Nov 13, 2011 · Francis’s acting is surprisingly sublime by 1933, as she goes from coquette to sexy grandma with grace and believability. As for the filmmaking, there are some invigorating shots as Kay reenters society in the ’20’s, and it’s always cool to see Times Square putter along so many decades ago.
