Cambell, 22, is a trans woman who recently completed gender reassignment surgery after having hormone treatment for the past six years.

Charlie – the youngest of the group at 19 – was born a boy but wants to be a woman and is taking female hormones as well as being assessed for surgery.

27-year-old Filomena is a straight single woman – who admits she knew nothing about the world of gender fluidity before signing up.

Howie, 25, is a lesbian who wanted to be a boy when she was younger – but changed her mind after coming to terms with her sexuality in her teens.

Phoenix, 22, is a dancer who identifies as ’70 per cent female’ and loves to wear flamboyant make-up.

Finally Tom is a 21-year-old straight man from Barnsley, who is convinced there are only two genders – male and female – when he first enters the house.

Other highlights of the season include feminist prank show Riot Girls, documentary Random Acts The Lady That Dances and Munroe Bergdorf’s documentary What Makes A Woman? – which will see the trans model explore gender dysphoria as she undergoes life-changing surgery.
