The Kawai K1 is a 61 key synthesizer manufactured in 1988 [3] by Kawai. It is an entry-level [4] and low fidelity synthesizer and not as feature rich as the Kawai K4 and was released to compete with the Roland D50 and Korg M1 synthesizers.
The K1 is one of Kawai's most economic digital synthesizers in the K-series. The K1 has 256 digital samples of waveforms, 50 of which are from acoustic instruments. You combine up to four wave shapes to create very new and unique sounds.
I was pretty happy to pick up the K1m. These desktop modules don't seem to be nearly as common as the rack mount modules. I recorded this on the same day that I acquired it so I still have a lot more to learn about.
The Kawai K1m, released in 1988, is a fantastic digital wavetable synthesizer that still holds up today, over 30 years later. The K1 sound engine, similar to the Kawai K3, is a 16-voice polyphony (256 digital waveforms) wavetable synthesizer.
