Aug 20, 2018 · At age 6, as a violin prodigy in Louisville, Kentucky, Joy Lusco Kecken played her first concert. At age 11, living in Florida, the film and TV writer, producer, director and Film Department associate professor started acting and writing after her mom took her to see Spike Lee’s debut feature film She’s Gotta Have It.
The Film Foundry was formed in by Joy Lusco Kecken and Scott Kecken, shortly after the pair met at Towson University. Their first collaboration, Louisville, starred Emmy award-winner Andre Braugher. It was screened at over 30 film festivals and won over 10 awards, including best short at the New York Independent International Film Festival.
