   • Mary Hare’s grand final act concerning further education was to state in her will that her school should form the basis for the first National Grammar School for deaf boys and girls, even though she did not leave any money. So, in June 1946, Dene Hollow Oral School for the Deaf became the Mary Hare Grammar School for the Deaf.
