  6. Mel Griffin received her BA from Carleton College in 2001 and her MFA from the University of Minnesota in 2011. She has since been a resident artist at Medalta International in Alberta, Canada, a visiting professor at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN, and won the 2011 Leap Award from the Society of Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, PA.

My work is a search for a connection to new and shifting landscapes, as well as an investigation of my own evolving relationship with the natural world. The imagery reflects an ongoing inner dialogue regarding the domestication of animals and land.
