Bruce Horak (born August 5, 1974) is a Canadian artist [1] and television and stage [2] actor, known for portraying Hemmer on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Horak is the first legally blind actor to portray a character in the Star Trek franchise.
Bruce Horak is a multi-talented performer and creator who was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He lost over 90% of his eyesight to a childhood cancer, Retinoblastoma. Bruce studied theatre at Mount Royal University, Loose Moose Theatre, and the Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance.
