The studio was founded on 1 August 1988 by animators Stefan Fjeldmark, Karsten Kiilerich, Jørgen Lerdam and Hans Perk and producer Anders Mastrup who met while working on the 1986 film Valhalla based on the Danish comics of the same name, and was originally headquartered at Tagensvej 85 in Copenhagen.
Anders Mastrup co-founded A. Film Production in 1988. Since then he has produced some of the best loved and highest grossing Danish and European animation features like ‘Help!
