Damon Rogers Johnson (born July 13, 1964: 11 ) is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, currently a solo artist, a member of Brother Cane and guitarist in Lynyrd Skynyrd. In the 1990s he co-founded Brother Cane, and later joined Alice Cooper 's band as lead guitarist.

Johnson and I recently spoke about the making of Echo. You have a nice mix of styles on Echo. How do you approach writing for a solo release?
May 15, 2016 · First off: ‘Echo’ does not really sound like Black Star Riders or Thin Lizzy, but it does sound like some pretty darn kick-ass rock and roll. It’s a 5-track helping of rock with a heavy, deep vibe that allows Johnson to show off his chops as a songwriter, as a vocalist, and (of course) as a guitarist.

Apr 6, 2016 · Black Star Riders guitarist Damon Johnson says producer Nick Raskulinecz encouraged him to put out his solo EP Echo. The five-track release is out now and was produced by Raskulinecz at his Nashville studio. Johnson says the pair’s friendship led to the EP becoming reality.
