Harald Reichebner was born 1948 in Vienna. On completion of his law degree in 1973, he discovered his love of theater and began to study at the Max Reinhardt Acting School in Vienna. For a number of years he worked as a freelance director and producer before being named managing director of the Viennese Volkstheater in 1979.
