Lou Volpe is the inspiration for the non-fiction book Drama High: The Incredible True Story of a Brilliant Teacher, a Struggling Town, and the Magic of Theater by former student Michael Sokolove. For 44 years, until he retired in 2013, Volpe ran the award winning drama program at Harry S Truman High School in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
