Sony Pictures Television Inc. (abbreviated as SPT) is an American television production and distribution company. Based at the Sony Pictures Studios complex in Culver City, California, it is a division of Sony Entertainment's unit Sony Pictures Entertainment and a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Sony Group Corporation.

Their former international distribution division, Sony Pictures Television International, was responsible for global distribution for the SPE film and television properties worldwide. Formerly known as Columbia TriStar International Television from 1992 to 2002.
Sony Pictures Television was founded in 2002, replacing Columbia TriStar Television, while similarly being reincorporated from the name of Columbia Pictures Television.
3 days ago · On September 16, 2002, Japanese giant Sony Corporation decided to retire the Columbia TriStar name and logo from its television division, rebranding it into Sony Pictures Television.
