Gerald William Abrams (born September 26, 1939) [1] is an American television producer who has produced many TV movies starting in the mid-1970s. [2] Early life. Abrams was born on September 26, 1939, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, [1] to Samuel David Abrams (1908–1990), who was of Polish-Jewish descent, [3] and his wife Lilian (1909–1998). [4]
He is best known for Houdini (2014), Nuremberg (2000), and Family of Spies (1990). Houdini is Cable Television's top rated Miniseries of 2014. Abrams has been nominated for two Emmys, the most recent was for Nuremberg, a dramatized account of the war crime trials following the defeat of Nazi Germany in WWII.
