Space Amoeba tells the story of amoeba-like extraterrestrials that hijack a space probe and, after crash landing on an atoll in the Pacific Ocean, create gigantic monsters from native lifeforms (a kisslip cuttlefish, stone crab and mata mata) for the purpose of conquering the Earth.
Dec 31, 2014 · The film still carries all the charm for me that it did then, and the quality of the print is still remarkably good considering the age. If like old fashioned monster movies, the kind that were just pure fun rather than scary, watch this one now. An obscure, but fun monster film.

Producer Fumio Tanaka speculated that the title was chosen in reference to the cosmic entity Yog-Sothoth featured in the stories of the Cthulhu Mythos by H. P. Lovecraft . [2]
