Soon after, Duff married Judy Jenkinson, a New York theatre casting and production executive, whom he met in 1973 when she was an assistant producer for the Arthur Miller play, The Price, in which Duff starred.
After they separated, Howard later married Judy Jenkinson in 1986. His most notable works include The Naked City (1948), While the City Sleeps (1956), Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), and No Way Out (1987). He passed away on 8 July 1990 in Santa Barbara, California of a heart attack, at age 76.
