Bob Everhart. Trumpeter Bob Everhart was born in Columbus on May 31, 1945 to a musical family. Bob’s father, Dr. Robert Everhart, had a 35-piece big band called the Doc Everhart Big Band for over 50 years.
Traditional country music performer Bob Everhart recorded six albums for Folkways Records between 1978 and 1985. Everhart began his musical career playing tenor saxophone in a rock & roll band.
When Bob died on Aug. 20, 2021, at the age of 85, those forms of organic music — as well as their practitioners, fans and small industries — lost one of their most hard working, multi-talented and knowledgable advocates.
