Ken Hecht. STEM had an enormous impact on my life even before it was called STEM. Being one of five children from the south side of Chicago, the son of a Chicago Firefighter and carpenter, I was lucky.

Ken Hecht was an American writer and producer. After graduating from the University of Miami, Hecht moved to Los Angeles in January 1969 to pursue his desire to become a comedy writer. His career took off quickly. Hecht started out writing for the NBC game show Hollywood Squares.

Noted TV comedy writer and producer Ken Hecht passed away on Monday, March 21 at his home in Tarzana, California after an 8-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Ken's comedy career spanned over six decades, and his sense of humor didn't leave him while he was sick.
