His rich, yet fragile baritone gave albums like The Lionessand Didn’t It Raina quiet, late night confessional feel, similar to like-minded folksters as Damien Jurado and Will Oldham. But unlike Oldham, Molina didn’t gradually get quieter as time went by.
Having dropped his Songs:Ohia moniker, Trials & Errors is Jason Molina’s first release with his new “band” Magnolia Electric Co., a name taken from Songs:Ohia’s last full length album.
