Gabe Fonseca previously worked as a staff writer on Private Practice (2011 to 2013) and The Night Shift (2016). He then worked as a production assistant on Marvel's Jessica Jones in its second season, in which he was also credited with writing one episode. In 2018 he was a producer on Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019), for which he wrote two episodes.
