Clement Virgo came with his family to Canada in 1977 and attended West Preparatory Public School in north Toronto before the family moved to Regent Park, the city's largest public-housing estate, known for its troubles with drugs and crime.
Known for his unique POV as a Black filmmaker, he has brought his cinematic approach to notable TV dramas including THE WIRE (for HBO), MONSTER (2022, for Ryan Murphy & NETFLIX), BILLIONS (Showtime) and the OWN drama, GREENLEAF (2016-20), as an Executive Producer alongside Oprah Winfrey.
