He told her “you forgot your floaties”, which may be his way of saying that she wasn’t ready to swim in that symbolic pool of sadness/craziness that magic brings all wizards, and ended up drowning in it because she wasn’t properly prepared.
The more I rewatch “You Forgot Your Floaties”, the more I think that it might be my favorite episode from the entire show. I never would have imagined that Magic Man had this much depth, and the way in which parallels were drawn between his backstory and Betty’s struggles was expertly handled.
