The school was one of a number of Art Institutes, a franchise of for-profit art colleges with many branches in North America, owned and operated by Education Management Corporation (EDMC).
Nov 28, 2018 · The for-profit art school, which had been operating since the 1970s, was sold to a nonprofit corporation that decided to shut down all its locations. The school will cease operations on Dec. 28, 2018 and the future of the property is uncertain.
Jul 6, 2018 · The parent company of the Art Institutes system announced that the Fort Lauderdale location and 30 other campuses will discontinue campus-based programs. Current students should continue to attend class and will be offered multiple options to finish their degrees.
