[3] He was appointed to that office in 1986 and was the youngest person to serve on the Delaware Supreme Court. [4] He retired from the Court in 2017. His seat was taken by Justice Gary Traynor .

He graduated from Milford High School, where he was the captain of the football and baseball teams and president of the honor society. While in Milford, he met his high school sweetheart, wife, and love of his life, Ilona Holland.
