Undergraduate Admissions. At Eastman we foster a community of passionate and talented students who possess the self-discipline and intellectual curiosity to succeed in music. We develop not only students’ performance abilities, but also their academic and practical skills.
Students applying for a bachelor of music degree will apply directly to the Eastman School of Music through their online application. Students applying for a dual degree (BM plus a BA or BS), will also need to submit an application to the College at the University of Rochester.

The School offers the degrees bachelor of music (BM), master of music (MM), master of arts (MA), doctor of musical arts (DMA), and doctor of philosophy (PHD). In addition, the performer’s certificate (PC) and the artist’s certificate (AC) both recognize outstanding performance ability.
