Maurice James Noble (May 1, 1911 – May 18, 2001) was an American animation production designer, background artist and layout designer whose contributions to the industry spanned more than 60 years. He was a long-time associate and right-hand man of animation director Chuck Jones, especially at Warner Bros. in the 1950s.

May 23, 2001 · Maurice Noble, one of the most respected designers and layout artists in the history of American animation, has died. He was 91. Noble died Friday at his home in La Crescenta.
At 87, Maurice Noble is the second oldest person working in the Hollywood animation industry (somebody at Disney is a year older than Noble and Chuck Jones is slightly younger so Noble calls him "Junior"), but his ideas, high energy and enthusiasm are that of a much younger man.
