Ross Hunter (born Martin Terry Fuss; May 6, 1920 – March 10, 1996) was an American film and television producer and actor. He is best known for producing light comedies such as Pillow Talk (1959), and the glamorous melodramas Magnificent Obsession (1954), Imitation of Life (1959), and Back Street (1961).
Ross moved to the administrative side in 2015 running the Department of Early Learning. He now leads the Department of Children, Youth, and Families and is responsible for most issues affecting at-risk children in Washington State.
Ross Hunter was a prolific and successful producer of musicals, comedies and dramas, such as Imitation of Life, Pillow Talk and Airport. He worked with stars like Debbie Reynolds, Julie Andrews and Lana Turner, and won the Golden Laurel Award in 1968.
