Nathan Straus (January 31, 1848 – January 11, 1931) was an American businessman and philanthropist who co-owned two of New York City's largest department stores, R. H. Macy & Company and Abraham & Straus. He was the namesake for the Israeli city Netanya.
There were several 26 East 55th Street, a four-story brownstone owned by Ida’s impressive mansions on Bolton Road, and one of them was on father Nathan Blun. When Nathan died in 1879 and willed the the estate purchased by Isidor.
