William Denby Hanna (July 14, 1910 – March 22, 2001) was an American animator, voice actor, and occasional musician who is best known for co-creating Tom and Jerry and providing the vocal effects for the series' title characters. Alongside Joseph Barbera, he also founded the animation studio and production company Hanna-Barbera .

Biography. William Denby "Bill" Hanna (July 14, 1910 – March 22, 2001) was an American animator, director, producer, television director, television producer, and cartoon artist, whose movie and television cartoon characters entertained millions of fans worldwide for much of the 20th century.
William (Bill) Hanna, was co-chairman and co-founder of Hanna-Barbera, Inc, producer of the world's largest library of animated entertainment. He and Joseph Barbera have been a creative team for more than 50 years and corporate partners for more than three decades since their first collaboration at MGM in 1938 and setting up.
