This collection spans Bessie's entire career-starting with her first "hit", "Downhearted Blues", through the 20's with her most famous songs, and ends with her two last recordings in 1938 after she was "rediscovered" by John Hammond and brought to a studio to record "Gimme a Pigfoot" and "Do Your Duty". All the tracks are standouts.
