Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics (abbreviated as MCSM) is a public high school at East 116th Street between Pleasant Avenue and FDR Drive in East Harlem, within Upper Manhattan, New York City.
Mission. We develop collaborative critical thinkers that take on challenges and solve problems. At whatever “level” students enter, all students will graduate with the skills required to pursue their dreams to be innovators and change agents.
Established in 1982, Manhattan Center for Science and Math is a four-year high school that provides students with a curriculum which emphasizes science and mathematics. As a screened school, admission is by application; however, Manhattan Center is not one of the nine specialized science high schools that require an entrance exam.
Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics offers expansive facilities, lots of extracurricular activities, and an impressive selection of advanced and college-level courses that’s on a par with the specialized high schools and large, neigbhorhood schools.
