Ellen Theg trained as a volunteer in the Tree House program after 9/11 and joined the BCW as a staff counselor in 2001, leading adult groups for the Tree House program and members of the community who have lost spouses, parents, and siblings.
Ellen Theg Chief of Operations. Ellen began her environmental work studying ecology. After interning at the Council on Environmental Quality for a political perspective, she turned to research science at Duke University.
The future Yonkers Greenway, envisioned as a pedestrian/bike corridor connecting neighborhoods and communities, is one such project. For over 10 years, Groundwork Hudson Valley has “carried the torch” for the Greenway project, which began as the dream of local community residents.
