Jul 24, 2023 · PITTSBURGH (July 24, 2023) — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds Soccer Club and the entire Western Pennsylvania soccer community have heavy hearts after losing one of their most influential figures this morning, as longtime coach Gene Klein died overnight after a long battle with cancer. He was 71.
Gene Klein (1952–2023) was an American soccer coach. He served as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds from 2005 to 2010 and as head coach at Quaker Valley High School from 1981 to 2005 and 2010 to 2015.
