Muriel Beaumont was born on 14 April 1876 in Sutton, Surrey, daughter of Henry "Harry" Beaumont, a solicitor, and wife Emily, née Bidwell. [1] She was the paternal niece of the writer and editor Comyns Beaumont (1873-1955). Despite her father's disapproval, she became an actress. [2] Her first appearance was at the Haymarket Theatre in 1898.

Angela du Maurier was born on 1 March 1904 in St Pancras, London, the eldest of three daughters of the actor-manager Sir Gerald du Maurier and his wife, actress Muriel Beaumont. Her paternal grandfather was the author and Punch cartoonist George du Maurier, who created the character of Svengali in the novel Trilby.

May 17, 2022 · Muriel Beaumont was the daughter of Harry Beaumont, a solicitor. Braving her father's disapproval she went on the stage and appeared first at the Haymarket Theatre in 1898. In 1902 she was engaged to play Lady Agatha in the original production of Barrie's _The Admirable Crichton_.
