He also worked in radio and appeared on the stage. Mustin began his professional acting career at the age of 67 after director William Wyler cast him in the 1951 film noir Detective Story.
Burt Mustin was a versatile actor who appeared in hundreds of films, TV shows and stage plays. He was also a salesman and a radio host, and was known for his role as Carlson in The Twilight Zone.
