Sandy Powell OBE RDI (born 7 April 1960) is a British costume designer. In a career spanning over three decades, she is recognized for her prolific work across independent films and blockbusters. She has received numerous accolades, including three Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, and two Costume Designers Guild Awards.
As of 2020, she has contributed with the costume design of nine films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: The Crying Game (1992), Shakespeare in Love (1998), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006), Hugo (2011), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), The Favourite (2018), and The Irishman (2019).
