Anthony Steffen, born Antonio Luiz de Teffé von Hoonholtz (July 21, 1930 – June 4, 2004), was an Italian-Brazilian character actor, screenwriter and film producer. Steffen achieved fame as a leading man in Spaghetti Western features. He was also known as Antonio Luigi de Teffe.
Anthony Steffen was a Brazilian-born Italian actor who starred in many genres of films, especially Spaghetti Westerns. He co-wrote Django the Bastard, a precursor of High Plains Drifter, and worked with Fellini, Leone, Bava and other masters of cinema.

Born in Rome on the 21 st July 1930, Anthony Steffen appeared in over 60 films, many of them in the lead role. Despite often (and unfairly) being detracted as a ‘wooden’ performer, he had a cult following amongst European Exploitation fans, mainly thanks to his star turns in a number of effective spaghetti westerns from the late 60s and early 70s.
