Richard Masur (born November 20, 1948) is an American character actor who has appeared in more than 80 films. From 1995 to 1999, he served two terms as president of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
Richard Masur. Actor: The Thing. Masur has been active in the theatre with increasing frequency. His Broadway debut was in The Changing Room by David Storey (1973).

Masur can currently be seen in the award-winning feature film Hudson, also starring Gregory Lay, David Neal Levin and Mary Catherine Greenawalt. The road trip dramedy tells the story of a reclusive and timid man who encounters unexpected friendships on a journey to scatter his mother’s ashes and finds a way to start living his life.
Moved from being a familiar face for over 20 years in film and television to directing. His first project Love Struck (1986), a 23-minute film which he both wrote and directed, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. His ex-wife Fredda Weiss produced the short.
