A popular actor, Bernard Cribbins began his career in his early teens as a member of a repertory company. By the time he was in his twenties, he was established in London, appearing regularly on the stage. From the late '50s on, he began appearing in films, and went on to establish a television career which stretched into the 2000s. Cribbins also had a brief, surprising run of novelty hits. Composed by songwriters Ted Dicks and Myles Rudge, "The Hole in the Ground" and "Right Said Fred" both reached the U.K. Top Ten. "Right Said Fred" would inspire the name of the camp '90s pop act. Cribbins’ only other release was 1967's "When I’m Sixty-Four"/"Oh My Word," but he remained active as a film, television, and stage actor into the 2010s. Bernard Cribbins died on July 27, 2022 at the age of 93. Wikipedia
