Goodner began her acting career on New York stage, making her Broadway debut in 1926's The Great Gatsby. In 1927 she moved to London, and made her screen debut there in Those Who Love (1929). Goodner was featured on television in 1946 with an adaption of the Broadway play, Blithe Spirit.
