Richard Erwin Rood (December 7, 1958 – April 20, 1999), better known by his ring name "Ravishing" Rick Rude, was an American professional wrestler who performed for many promotions, including World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Dec 13, 2023 · On April 20, 1999, an unconscious Rick Rude was discovered by his wife as he died that morning. His death resulted from heart failure, even at 40 years of age. According to the autopsy, Rick Rude passed away because of an overdose of mixed medication.
Nov 16, 2020 · Rick Rude was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 by Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. In yet another tragedy, the year before he was inducted, Rude’s youngest son, Cody, was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 19.
