John Larry Jefferson (né Washington; born February 3, 1956) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football with the Arizona State Sun Devils, he was selected in the first round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.

Over his career he had 175 receptions for 2,821 yards and 19 touchdowns. John was twice named as the Sun Devil Most Valuable Player, an honor he also won in the Hula Bowl. The San Diego Chargers selected Jefferson as the fourth player taken in the NFL draft. In an eight season career he was elected to four Pro Bowls.
