Peter Alan Morton (born August 7, 1947) is an American businessman. He is the co-founder of the Hard Rock Café (along with Isaac Burton Tigrett), a chain of casual dining restaurants.
Hard Rock Cafe, Inc. is a chain of theme bar-restaurants, memorabilia shops, casinos and museums founded in 1971 by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton in London. In 1979, the cafe began covering its walls with rock and roll memorabilia, a tradition which expanded to others in the chain.
Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton were two shaggy-haired Americans who just wanted to find a good American burger while living in London. Their solution? They opened up their own American-style diner in a deserted Rolls Royce dealership. They called it Hard Rock Cafe. Fun fact: Isaac & Peter were only given a 6-month lease.
Our History. Peter Morton and Isaac Tigrett established the first Hard Rock Cafe in London in 1971. Hard Rock International began its global expansion in 1982 when Tigrett and Morton agreed to develop their own Hard Rock Cafes in various parts of the globe.
