Armas Clifford "Mike" Markkula Jr. (/ m ɑːr ˈ k uː l ə /; born February 11, 1942) is an American electrical engineer, businessman and investor. He was the original angel investor , first chairman, and second CEO for Apple Computer, Inc. , providing critical early funding and managerial support.
Mike Markkula, B.S. EE ’64 and M.S. EE ’66, shares his USC engineering experience, his first impressions of Apple, his risky decisions, and his marketing philosophy. He will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Viterbi Awards.
