Depuis 1995, il possède la nationalité française. Formé au FK Velež Mostar, l'attaquant remporte avec ce club la Coupe de Yougoslavie en 1981.
Vahid Halilhodzic is a former centre-forward who played for Paris Saint-Germain and the Yugoslavia national team. He is also a current manager of Morocco and has coached several clubs in France and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
